Mini Speedway Fall Indoor Crawling Series Wrap Up

We finished up the first Mini Speedway Indoor Crawling Series the Saturday before Christmas with 2 different comps. We ran the 2 courses planned for that week and then ran 2 more to make up for the week we missed a few weeks back.

We ended up running 5 comps for the fall series and had either 3 or 4 drivers at each event. While I had planned 6 events we were happy to get the 5 in we did.

For the first comp of the day Slick and I ran my new DMG NAT while Gozer ran his Modded Losi MRC. Here is how it ended up:

Schmenzer 41
Gozer 49
Slick 73

For the Second Comp Slick and I switched to my more proven modded Losi MRC. While Gozer kept at it with the Bronco-bodied MRC. Here is how that one ended up:

Slick 12
Schmenzer 25
Gozer 37

For a comparison of the DMG NAT and the modded MRC I can say that I like both and there are a few things about each that I like more than the other but in the end steering precision and side hilling ability have me weighing in slightly in favor of the NAT. It does need some shock work which is fine because I broke one anyway. With some work in this area and a slightly higher ride height I think the NAT will be a killer ride and I LOVE the way it looks.

Standings after 4 events looked like this:

38 Schmenzer
28 Gozer
24 Slick
10 OICU812

For the whole season, after event 5 here is how the standings shook out.

46 Schmenzer
34 Gozer
34 Slick
10 OICU812

Well, I didn’t really have a plan for a tie but here is how the two contenders finished:

slick 3-3-3-3-1

gozer 4-2-2-2-3

Congratulations guys. I’m looking forward to 2009!
